Former Ajax star bags prison term for stabbing

The alleged event between Quincy Promes, a Dutch football player who presently competes for Spartak Moscow in Russia, and his cousin allegedly took place at a family gathering in July 2020. After being found guilty of assault, former Netherlands international Quincy Promes was given an 18-month prison term. In December 2020, Promes, 31, was detained on suspicion of stabbing his cousin. He was also charged with manslaughter or attempted murder, but the Dutch court dismissed this accusation. He must provide the victim compensation in the amount of €7,000 (around £6,000).
