Mason Mount is one of the midfielders Manchester United is considering, and talks between the two teams are still ongoing. His Chelsea deal expires in June 2024. Since leaving the academy, Mount has won the Champions League and Club World Cup with Chelsea.
Mason Mount’s first-round offer from Manchester United has been “immediately rejected” by Chelsea. The deal is reportedly worth £40 million.
There is a growing belief that Mount, who has one year left on his Stamford Bridge deal, wants to leave the club.
As the 24-year-old enters the final year of his current contract, United have a price in mind for the Chelsea academy graduate and will not overspend for him.
If the transfer doesn’t go through, the club has alternative options, including Moises Caicedo, a midfielder for Brighton & Hove Albion who has been a target for United for a while.
They are believed to have requested to be “kept informed” of any developments surrounding the potential for the in-demand 21-year-old
Declan Rice, the captain of West Ham, is also someone United likes. Rice is set to leave the club this summer, but how much United can pay may depend on how much money is made through departures and how the ongoing takeover process turns out. The top objective for United is to sign at least one striker, but it is unlikely that they will pursue Harry Kane because Tottenham does not want to part ways with the player, particularly not to a Premier League opponent.
Rasmus Hojland of Atlanta has been contacted about his availability, while United is also keeping a watch on Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt, among other players. In the event that a central defender leaves, the team is looking to add one.
The representatives of Napoli’s Min-Jae Kim know about United’s interest in the 26-year-old, who is thought to have a release clause of £42m that kicks in on July 1 for 15 days.
Monaco’s Axel Disasi is another player United are said to be looking at and the France international wants the move.
