After being accused of sexual misconduct by his ex-girlfriend Gabriel Cavallin, Manchester United on Sunday postponed striker Antony’s return to the team.

In a statement, the English club accepted the claims made against the Brazilian international.

Players who haven’t played in any international matches are expected back at practice on Monday, according to the statement. But Antony has decided to postpone his return until further notice so he can respond to the accusations.
“As a club, we reject acts of abuse and violence. We appreciate the significance of protecting everyone involved in this case and the effect that these claims have on abuse survivors.

Remember that the Brazilian has already refuted claims that he physically abused his ex-girlfriend twice. As a result, Antony missed Brazil’s most recent round of international games as Greater Manchester and Sao Paulo Police looked into the matter.

In the meantime, Ingrid Lana, another lady, has accused him of abuse.

The woman said Antony tried to coerce her into having sexual relations in an interview with Brazilian news station Record TV.

Antony has vehemently refuted the new allegations, which are said to have occurred on a trip to England in 2022. When she was invited to the player’s home, Ingrid Lana claims she was visiting the nation on business.

“He tried to get close to me, but I wasn’t interested. I banged my head because he shoved me up against the wall,” she claimed in an interview that will be broadcast in its entirety on September 10.

“My goal was purely commercial. I realized he had other goals when I went there at his invitation. Never have I been someone’s lover.

Following allegations that Antony had head-butted and attacked Gabriel Cavallin in a hotel room on January 14, the day following a Premier League match against Manchester City, new claims have been made against him. She alleges that she injured her head and that a breast implant was broken.

Antony, an £86 million transfer from Dutch club Ajax to Manchester United in 2022, has refuted the accusations on social media and said he’s cooperated with the authorities, claiming he’s been “falsely accused of assault.”
