The SheFarmers Initiative joins the government and good people of Plateau State in commiserating over the recent attacks on some communities, particularly in Bokkos and Bassa Local Government Areas.
These unfortunate incidents have not only caused loss of lives and property but have also left deep scars on our collective psyche. Some of our members have been directly affected, and we share in their grief and pain.
As an organization dedicated to promoting sustainable livestock and crop farming practices among women and youths in Nigeria, we believe that peace and stability are essential for agricultural development and economic empowerment.
In light of these developments, we have decided to postpone the launch and inauguration of our activities, initially scheduled for this period. This decision was not taken lightly, but we believe it is essential to join the state in mourning and showing solidarity with the affected communities.
Our mission is to enhance economic empowerment, food security, and environmental stewardship among women and youths through capacity building, empowerment, networking, and advocacy. We condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms and pray that such incidents will not recur in our state.
We stand in solidarity with the government’s efforts to bring peace and stability to Plateau State and pledge our support to any initiative aimed at promoting peace and security. We appreciate the resilience and support of our members during this challenging time.
May we continue to work together towards a more peaceful and prosperous Plateau State.
