U.K Box Office: ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’ dominates with 72% market share

According to data supplied by Comscore, Disney’s “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3” dominated the U.K. and Ireland box office with an opening of £12 million ($15.2 million).

The most recent Marvel Studios film had the highest three-day opening weekend of 2023 and debuted at Number 1 with a 72% market share, according to Disney.

“The Super Mario Bros. Movie” from Universal earned £1.3 million in its fifth weekend to finish in second place with a total of £49 million. Studiocanal’s “Evil Dead Rise” finished in third place with third-weekend earnings of £493,732 for a total of £4.4 million.

The second weekend of eOne’s “The Unlikely Pilgrimage Of Harold Fry” brought in £336,519 for a total of £2 million, placing it in fourth position. Lionsgate’s “John Wick: Chapter 4,” which earned £195,298 in its seventh weekend and has now made £17 million overall, completed the top five.

Within the top 10, there were two debuts. Diljit Dosanjh, the star of the Punjabi language, stars in RBE’s Punjabi-language film “Jodi,” which debuted in ninth place with £88,045. The Cannes entry “Return to Seoul” from MUBI debuted in 10th place with £75,273.

Additionally from MUBI, “One Fine Morning” made £14,050 on its fourth weekend and Bank Holiday Monday for a total box office of £264,951.
