I was under spell, says Benue deacon who beat woman to stupor

Social Buzz

Kelvin Iorfa, a deacon with one of Benue State’s churches, has blamed a recent physical assault on a woman on a “spiritual attack.”

Iorfa was recently caught in a viral video manhandling a lady.

In the video, he is seen flogging the lady who is said to be his younger sister with a belt. In the video, the young lady later faints.

Many people called for his arrest after seeing the video.

Following his arrest, he reportedly pleaded that he was suffering from a “spiritual attack” that rendered him unable to understand what he was doing.

He claimed he was “surprised” to see himself in the viral video beating his younger sister.

The Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, confirmed his arrest to newsmen on Tuesday morning.

She, however, said he is yet to be interrogated.

“Yes, that is true [he has been arrested]. But for the claims about what he said, I haven’t spoken with him. When I speak with him, I will get back to you,” the PPRO said.
