On Saturday, survivors and families who had suffered losses described how suspected killer-herdsmen had attacked Mgban Primary School on Friday.

Bernard Shawa, the district chief of the Nyiev Community, revealed that the attack claimed the lives of two of his sons.

One of the survivors, Mnenna Orkega, described her experience as well, saying she and her children had fallen asleep only to be roused by random gunshots.

“I and my children were already asleep but we were woken up by gunshots that swept over here,” said Orkega, who lost her 10-year-old daughter.

The woman claimed, in Tiv, that one of the herdsmen killed her child after he grabbed it as she tried to flee through the window.

On his part, the community head, Bernard said, “I lost two of my sons during the attack, this was not the first time these people (herdsmen) were attacking us here. There was an attack on the day of the presidential election, February 25, 2023 during which 12 persons were killed,” he said.

The traditional ruler appealed to state and federal governments to stop the killing of innocent people in the state.

AFRIQPulsetv reports that it was a black Good Friday in the state as suspected killer-herdsmen invaded the primary school at Mgban in Nyiev Council Ward in the Guma Local Government Area of the state where scores of people were killed.
