City of Houston declares July 7 as Davido Day

Afrobeat star, David Adeleke, popularly known by his stage name, Davido has been honored by the City of Houston as 7th July is named “Davido day.”

The multi-award winning megastar’s Timeless Tour is currently in the United States, and Houston, Texas, where he performed last, had a sold-out Toyota Arena with a capacity of 21,000.

Edward Pollard, a member of the Houston City Council, attended the event on July 7, 2023, and declared that day to be Davido Day in the city of Houston.

In a letter that encapsulated Davido’s impact as a superstar and his contributions to the music industry through his successful songs, Houston City Mayor Sylvester Turner made the proclamation.

Davido’s fourth studio album, “Timeless,” which was published on March 31, 2023, shattered all major streaming platforms’ first-week African sales records.

The album had several great songs, including ‘Unavailable,’ a South African song featuring Musa Keys that has achieved international recognition and is one of the best Afrobeats tracks published in 2023.
