The talented Nigerian singer-songwriter and record producer CKay has finally released the long-awaited deluxe edition of his album “Sad Romance”.

The updated edition of the album adds four more songs, bringing the total number of expertly created tracks to 15, from the previous album’s eleven.

A few of the recently added songs are “Capture My Soul” featuring Joeboy, “Nneka” featuring Tekno, “Nwayi,” and the previously number-one smash “Hallelujah” featuring Blaqbonez.

Sad Romance combines saxophones, keys, log drumming, and violins in an organic way to infuse Afropop with languid soul, intriguing R&B, jazzy orchestration, and Afrohouse.

The dualistic “Samson and Delilah” with Mayra Andrade combines the energising amapiano on the Davido and Focalistic-assisted “WATAWI,” unrepentant acoustics of “You Cheated, I Cheated Too,” and seductive overtones of “Come Close” with the tropical motifs.

Sad Romance’s duet with Ronisia, “Lose You,” which enfolds French lyrics inside its passionate, soprano soundscapes, best exemplifies the album’s synthesis of sounds and cultures, featuring Davido, Ayra Starr, Focalistic, Mayra Andrade, Abidoza, and Ronisia.
