The governor of Plateau state, Simon Bako Lalong, has directed security forces to find those responsible for the Sunday attacks on villages in the Mangu and Bokkos Local Government areas.
The governor issued the order in a statement released by Dr. Makut Macham, the governor’s director of press and public affairs, on Monday in Jos.
According to him, security agencies’ quick action would prevent the situation from worsening and guarantee that justice would be served promptly.
Lalong condemned the attacks on Murish, Kumbum District and Jwak Mai tumbi in Mangu local government and Marish in Bokkos Local government area which has resulted in the destruction of lives and properties.
He described the attacks as another attempt to reintroduce the era of violence and crises ,which have been largely contained following Government’s huge investment in security, peace building and reconciliation.
The governor instructed the State Emergency Management Agency and the Peace Building Agency to promptly provide assistance to the victims while expressing his condolences to those who lost their lives and property. (NAN)
