The police have reportedly apprehended a man who was staying at the Wetland Hotel in Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State, with Instagram cloth vendor Adeshina Olayinka aka Khadi.
According to reports, the suspect, whose name has been withheld, is being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Iyaganku, Ibadan.
After learning of the vendor’s death, the man voluntarily presented himself to the police at Akobo Police Station.
A member of staff of the hotel told newmen that after the incident, the hotel “called the suspect to inform him about the incident. He was shocked and rushed down to the hotel to present himself to the police.”
Khadi complained of weakness the night before her death, the man was quoted to have said.
The vendor, reports say, informed a friend of hers of a meeting with an individual at Wetland Hotel on the night of Wednesday, April 5.
The man she was with, however, checked out early on Thursday morning.
It was gathered that the hotel put a phone call to Khadi’s room and she confirmed her safety to the receptionist.
Hours later, the receptionist found that Khadi was not responsive and raised alarm. The vendor was rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead.
